Welcome to the Midland Adventure Schools page. We offer a variety of adventurous activities that represent the very best in terms of Co-ordination, Communication and Personal and Social Development
Because our standards are high, we only select activities that offer the best quality of adventurous experience to young people in the safest environment. Our goal is always to deliver well planned, safe and enjoyment filled activity programmes. Your satisfaction is of paramount importance.
Below is a complete list of the activities we offer to primary schools.
Primary and Secondary School Activities
Abseiling - A challenging activity for young people. The Abseiling Platform is 12 foot high and is ascended to via means of a ladder.
Aeroball - A new sport from Denmark. Aeroball is across between Trampolining, Basketball and Volleyball. This is a two player game, opponents go one on one for a two minute game.
Air Rifles - A brand new activity for September 2008 and a favourite amongst young people. Using lightweight biathlon air rifles young people learn how to handle and sight a rifle, they also learn about the law around shooting and owning air rifles.
Archery - A favourite amongst young people. Using re-curve bows and aluminium arrows, the short range makes sure of a high success rate.
Camp Crafts - Young people learn how to pitch and strike a tent, initially as a problem solving exercise, but then through instruction. Young people can also learn to cook safely on trangia’s.
Climbing - A challenging activity for young people. The Climbing Wall is 12 foot high and young people challenge themselves as to the height they achieve.
Crossbows - A favourite amongst young people. Using powerful mini crossbows and plastic bolts, the short range makes sure of a high success rate.
Duke of Edinburgh's Award - Expedition training, camp crafts, navigation.
Night Line - An activity that relies on good team work and communication. The young people are blindfolded and led initially from the building on a rope to a fixed rope trail.
Orienteering - Young people lead themselves in a small group around the course with the assistance of instructors who will help with the clues and ensure the safety of the young people.
Parachute Games - Parachute games encourage co-operative, non-competitive play and reinforce turn-taking and sharing. The games are a lot of fun for the young people.
Problem Puzzles - A selection of puzzles and shapes that challenge the young people to work, co-operate, communicate and share ideas to solve the problems laid in front of them.
Problem Solving / Team Building - A selection of activities that challenge the young people to work, co-operate and communicate with each other as a team.
Shelter Building - An activity that relies on good team work and communication. The young people use the equipment provided to build themselves a shelter which will keep them dry.
Target Paintball - A favourite amongst young people. Using powerful spring operated paintball guns, the young people have great fun blasting the targets with paint. Shooting has never been so much fun.
Volleybird - Volleybird is a fun, fantastic and highly addictive game that some describe as Badminton without the racquets. The Volleybird is an oversized shuttlecock that can be hit with the palm or kicked with your feet. It is both a recreational game and a major competitive sport that can be played over a net, indoors or out. The aim is simple, keep the Volleybird off the ground using what ever body part you like!!
